Because only another human being can understand what you’re trying to do, it takes a real editor to help you do it right. Human expertise are used to ensure quality and accuracy of the end result. Online and offline editing tools don’t usually interpret complex, fancy designs and layouts very well because they can’t see the “big picture”, whereas a human editor can. Most software won’t notice if a name is spelt incorrect, or if a sentence is broken up over multiple lines incorrectly. It won’t tell you if the layout just won’t work they way you are trying, instead if will just print it as you provided it. One very good example of why a human editor are better than automated software is highlighted in a case of a lady who recently came to us wanting a canvas printed with three of her children featured in it. She had previously gone to a larger company who mass produced giftware products and they didn’t review the project before printing it, therefore two of the children were partially cut off the sides of the canvas. She reluctantly enquired through us about printing the picture for her again, but was worried that the outcome would be the same. We assured her that we have humans that edit every single project to ensure accuracy and quality. The size and shape she initially desired was not suitable for the shape of the photo she provided, so we gave her alternative sizing choices to choose from before proceeding to print her canvas. She was extremely satisfied to say the least with the completed product. Another much simpler example was of one of our customers who initially used an overseas company to purchased a coffee mug featuring a photo on both sides. This particular company offered a really good price, much cheaper than many local companies, which is what drove the customer towards their website. The online tools enabled easy uploading of their photo, positioning of the photo on a mug template and then following through to complete the order. Unfortunately the online tool was not 100% accurate and the product they received in the mail didn’t look quite like how they designed it online. Since this item was a gift for an upcoming friends birthday, redesigning and reordering from this company again was too late. Human editors can be perceived as slowing down the ordering process, however we believe that if they help you achieve a higher quality and accuracy, then why would you waste your time or money elsewhere. DigiGifts staff work with you to get your design right before sending it to the printer.
